1993 I think? Cannondale M800 beast of the east classed as 18" due to high bottom bracket, has a mixture of XT and LX gearing and brakes with Deore thumbies, it's been resprayed in the past, may keep it and tweek it and may not ( my boredom threshold is very low these days).

Apparently it rides really smooth but not from personal use as it is too big for me.

The reasoning was so you could take the back end (which is attached by the chainstay next to the bottom bracket and also secured by the seatpost) off without the complexity of reattaching the gear cable however you still have to detach the cable back disc. As stated before it was a prototype to...

Built as a touring bike with a remote Shimano 8 speed hub frame mounted and detachable backend with the idea that the bike could be broken down and fitted into a custom made suitcase that would double as a bike trailer. This was a prototype build.

A one off build that was made for Keswick Bikes about 2010 ish.

Love its insanity.
