    Richmond Road Bike

Thanks. Mine is definitely the one branded by the Richmond Cycles shop as it was bought there locally. The frame looks nice with decent lugs and dropouts but no indication of tubing used. I was just curious who was building frames for them in the 1980s.

F W Evans unusual road frame - who made it?

I have bought this FW Evans frame and it’s unlike any other frames of that maker I came across previously. Especially seat stay tops and lugging look different. It had the modern lettered EVANS on the top tube but came off. Anyone has an idea who could have made that frame? Thanks for your...

1997 Specialized Rockhopper South Downs ride

I always wanted to try South Downs Way on a bike and had this Rockhopper bought earlier for £50. Just wondered if the bike or me will crack first . Also you don’t see them a lot used as MTB. Upgraded the handlebar to an adventure one, added rear rack and changed tyres to slightly wider Nobbly...

    Unusual FW Evans vintage frame

Found an interesting FW Evans frame. It has quite nice lugging and unusual seat bolt position (I’ve only seen that on Roberts bikes. Does anyone have any information who the frame builder could be? Appreciate any information. Thanks

    Geoffrey Butler Roberts frame

Re: Re: I certainly will not ignore it as it sound very sensible to me. The only problem is that the original nice wheels - Campag big flange on champion competition rims have spikes rusty beyond repair so not too sure what to do with them. And yes - I’m tempted to put campag Nuovo Gran...

    Geoffrey Butler Roberts frame

Hi, I think based on website information that cooperation between Charlie Roberts and John Pratt started around 1966 when the garden shed behind GB shop was mentioned, but the pencil stays suggest 70s when Roberts apparently adopted them for some Aussie cyclists. The bike was actually a swap...

    Geoffrey Butler Roberts frame

A local friend gave me a GB bike with clear Charlie Roberts stamps on forks and frame with Geoffrey Butler decals. Unfortunately I can’t locate serial number - I think it was in the drop out and was worn, but I’ve noted a distinct drilling marks in the bottom bracket shell. Does anyone know what...
