Early Muddyfox Lovers Anonynmous

Thanks, that was a lucky find from Gumtree for a massive £45. Just didn't have the drop bars with it, but the guy had had it for years and didnt even know about the drop bars.

It rides really nice, but then all the early MFs do IMO. Love all of mine and they all get a regular airing. Highly underrated bikes that get overlooked for the more exotic bikes. But that just means it keeps the prices down ;)

I agree Jimwise68 - I'll have a look in the catalogue later - but would you say, as the owner of both, the Trailblazer is essentially a drop handlebar '88 Explorer?

Re:

Excellent thanks - good thread - your trailblazer looks like an '87 Explorer frame basis. I will have look in the '88 catalogue tonight see if they did an '88 version with the 'fast back'seat stays of the '88 Explorer. Lovely job and project though - and I wish I'd kept my '87 Explorer now to turn into one. Still I'll keep looking a 'real one' might turn up in my size but they are 10 times rarer than an Explorer that's for sure :)

Re:

That is a nice mid-80s early one - a Japanese Araya Muddy Fox no doubt - a bit before my time but I appreciate it all the same - its been looked after too , nice well done

Re:

Lovely old bit of kit, love it, fabulous condition and originality too - well done. I'm beginning to really like the early ones.
