Imlach's Sweaty Hippie Funk Collection, adventure bikes, rusty rats, cruisers and other alt bastardisations of bicyclery

Here's a local chap who builds his own choppers according to his own designs -- does all the welding (including all those decorative touches) and brings his creations into town every Saturday.

    Today's Ride

Woke up with a slightly sore throat but it's a bright, dry day without too much wind so really wanted to get out there instead of sweating on the turbo trainer in the shed. Had to layer up a bit as the temp was about 5C -- remembered my other half had given me some pretty lairy shoe covers which...

The second looks more decorative than functional . . . I think

Is there a good resource to learn the hierarchy of 90s suspension forks?

Yep -- and some manufacturers seem to make things quite difficult in terms of naming etc. Not to mention OEM-only models. For example, Marzocchi. I found the incomplete lost below somewhere on the internet (maybe this very site) which might help a bit.

    Bar width

Let's not forget our fixie brethren and their super-narrow urban bars -- more for navigating narrow spaces in urban traffic, but also surely giving an aero advantage. And like most on here, not subject to random UCI rules.

I thought these would appeal to the discerning gentlemen of this thread. Possibly the most contrary thing to the principle of 'form follows function' ever...

    Today's Ride

After a week of driving either a car on the motorway or my desk at home, I knocked off early this afternoon for a ride. It was 3pm but already the shadows were lengthening and temperature dropping. I went off to play a bit in the 'badlands' area I tend to favour for the MTB and realised that...

Pace RC200 F2 - First bike post, go easy 😂

Welcome! Looks very good to me. The tiniest niggle would be the purple bit on the seatpost, as all the other colour highlights are red -- but that's not a dealbreaker.

Found this photo I took in Frankfurt in 2012 -- anyone ever seen a frame like this? (And doesn't it look a bit . . . vulnerable where the frame members cross over?)

    Today's Ride

Well that's a better effort than I managed! Went out later with the dog and took a couple of iPhone shots. This is where the local MTB'ers go for a bit of rough.

    Today's Ride

No photos today: very wintry weather here at the moment and my rides during the week took place on a stationary trainer in the shed -- not only boring, but hard to replicate the kind of work you need to do in the real world. Today was chilly and with a strengthening wind, giving rise to the...
