Anyone have details on how the Avocet 30 cyclocomputer magnet ring works?

Not nerdy. We all know anything with a battery - retro or not, is the work of the devil. This is what is needed. Bowden cables, worm gears, whatsits that go "tick", analogue dials and chrome shit.

Is this seat post Chorus Aero 1st generation?

Yes ..... sort of. Sold one just like it years ago and remembered it was a fuss. Nice seat-post. https://velobase.com/Pages/ViewComponent.aspx?ID=D4B9D11D-DBE8-416E-A8A6-BD8C4B45DC75&Enum=105&AbsPos=8...

With a downtube and top-tube that length, I reckon the extra 2.5mm either side of a normal 68mm would make all the difference in lateral stiffness.

Yes, in general rule that is certainly the make up in the MTB early era as construction was concerned. But there are certainly "one-offs" around from lesser known - some even in Europe ;) China is also not too far behind. Early production Parkpre for example, having had the first issues...

CC. @TheRadioGuyUK Neither. Certainly not qualified enough. He/she does not show any strengths in those departments so to speak.

Revelations about the past of Mauro Gianetti, Pogacar’s Manager (Radio France Investigation, Translation in post)

Super charged. In the field. On the road. There are the occasional WTF moments of doom or glory in one day Classics. And in retrospective it is more of a WTF. Worth watching and historical understanding IMHO.

Dent in steel seat tube. Intervention needed??

Get another child and put the child seat back on is the proper answer. No one complained before removing it. ;)

Parts , bikes and project bikes

Love this. There's like "cobbled together" but it is not "cobbled together". On the functioning limit. 🥰 Lovely build.

Can Alu frames ever feel like Steel frames?

And wearing known shoes compatible to whatever the test bed as got. Which is usually some crap with reflectors necessary by law at the point of sale. Insisting "please put these on" for a test ride was typically greeted with a "OK" in my limited experience - XT SPuDs.

The "synthesis" between beauty and effectiveness

From a pure visual aesthetic point of view, I think it would be worth researching and trying to eliminate the silver parts except the central shock unit. Easier said than done. The front fork canti-bridge in this configuation with the Maguras would be fairly easy to deal with. When it comes to...

The "synthesis" between beauty and effectiveness

The thread reads almost like a monologue. Wonderful title. The end result is what counts. It's all there in every classic aesthetic sense for me in my eyes. It's top. 🥰 And a rider on top, more sombre or in equally very well thought out kit to connect it all in motion, and just let the bike...
