Orbit 531c, 58cm,, Shimano 600, Mavic, Cinelli, Charge etc

Hi folks. Up for sale is my beautiful early 90s 531 Competition framed Orbit. Frame size is 58cm square. It's got a full Shimano 600 tricolour groupset, including the hubs. The wheels are 36 spoke with Mavic Reflex SUP rims in a cool looking ice blue finish. Headset is also Shimano 600, but...

    44cm Easton oversized drops

Hi. Does anyone have some 44cm wide OS Easton drop bars with the classic oval E logos on that they'd like to move on? I've been searching fleabay for weeks, and can only seem to find either 42cm with the right logos on, or 44cm with the modern wraparound Easton script. Preferably at least...

    Dura ace 7700

Hi. I've recently acquired a really nice late 90s Trek OCLV frameset, and would really like to put Dura ace on it. I've pretty much had every iteration of almost every Shimano road groupset over the last 20 years, yet not a single DA component. The Trek frame is a '99, which puts it in the 7700...

2015 Genesis Latitude 19" SLX, Fox, Bontrager, Hope REDUCED

Hi. I've decided to sell my Genesis Latitude. Got a few things going on and need the cash and the extra space. It's a 2015 model in 19", made from Mjolnir cro-mo. I bought it as a frame, and slowly put it together as and when funds allowed. Spec is as follows: both mechs, chainset, shifters...

Early 80s Dawes Lightning rolling resto

Hi all. Thought I'd start a thread about my most recent acquisition. It's a Dawes Lightning from the early 80s. Due to the date stamps on the hubs, brakes and rear mech, I'm confident it's from 1981. Apparently, all of Dawes' records were destroyed in a fire around the late 80s, so the frame...

    Date my Dawes....the plot thickens

Hi folks. Picked this up yesterday. It came up locally on Facebook, and being a bit of a Dawes fan I went for look and test ride. While not exactly set up properly, it still had a decent ride feel so i made an offer and took it away I'm hoping someone may be able to suggest an approximate year...

Road mechs - Sora, Tiagra, RX100, 600 tricolour

Hi. Been thinking about having a clear out for a while, both to free up some space and generate some funds. All items will be sent by Hermes. 3300 Sora rear mech. 8/9 speed. Not cosmetically A1 exactly, but perfectly functional. Would be spot on for a hack/pub bike. £8 posted 4601 Tiagra...

    1991 Orbit Illusion 531 Competition...FINISHED!

Hi folks. Got a retro road project on the go, so thought I'd start a build thread. I bought this frameset from a brilliant ebay seller called Chris Bertwistle. I'd had my eye on it for a week or so before I took the plunge, and was able to part-ex an early 80s Dawes frame I got a few years ago...

    1 inch black quill stem

Morning. I'm looking for a nice black 1" quill stem, either 110 or 120mm long. Doesn't actually have to be retro, but definitely parallel with the ground road type. Ideally cast, but welded tubular style would be ok too. Been looking on fleabay, but can't find the length and colour I need...

    Mystery Orbit frame

Hi. I've recently bought a rather nice Orbit frame off eBay. However, I'm not sure exactly what it is, or how old. I'd had my eye on it for around a week, and did as much online research as I could. There isn't much info about Orbits full stop, as they're fairly rare, so I'm hoping that the...

    Orbit road frames

Hi. I'm thinking of starting a new retro road project, and would quite like some British steel, circa late 80s/early 90s. There's a nice looking Orbit frameset on the bay currently, but can't find any info in the manufacturers archive on here. I vaguely recall that their mtbs got some good...

    Is XC Pro any cop?

Hi. I'm considering buying a frame and fork off of fleabay. Originally it came with Suntour XC Pro, and the seller says he has most of it available, everything bar the brakes I think. My only experience with Suntour was the XC Comp my Zaskar came with, which was so bad it soon got binned in...

    105 brakes

Hi folks. It's almost time to remove my retro road bike from my 15 year old turbo trainer and actually ride it a bit. Looking to upgrade the mostly useless Tektro brakes with some 5500 105 brakes in black, to match the rest of it. Anyone got any stashed away? Regards Marge

    36 hole Shimano LX hubs?

Hi folks. I've got a Trek 950 project on the go, and am currently in the 'parts acquisition' stage. Can anyone tell me if Shimano made 36h M56X black LX hubs? I've found the correct rims for it, but they're 36 hole. Fleabay only seems to turn up 32h hubs. Regards Marge

Differences between M737 and 739 rear mechs

Hi folks. Doing some research for a new resto project. Question as per title. I think the 737 is 7 speed, and the 739 is 8 speed. Other than that, they look fairly similar. Sods law in action, I'll need a 737, and have a 739. Regards Marge

    '92 Fire Mountain resto value

Hi. I'm in a bit of a quandary over my Fire Mountain. It's been an ongoing project for a couple of years, and has been a rider for a couple of weeks now. Today I rode just under 20 miles on it, on road/off road style, linking up trails by riding short road sections between them. I had an...

    Adult trike

Hi. I'm trying to track down a tricycle project, as my wife has decided she wants one. Been trawling ebay/gumtree but most seem to go for at least £150, which is too much. I guess I'm hoping someone on here has a trike they no longer need. If it helps, my wife is five foot six. Regards Marge

    1992 Kona Fire Mountain

Hi folks Thought I'd post some pics of my latest Kona project. As usual I got carried away building it up, so forgot to take photos of every stage of it. I got it as a frame, fork and stem some time ago. Got it sand blasted, powdered in a sort of Kawasaki green, then emailed Gil M for the decals

    Early 90s Kona seatpost size

Hi. As above really. The bike in question is a 93 Hahanna. I thought all 90s steel Konas had 27mm seatposts, but the seatpost I have in that diameter definitely doesn't fit. Regards Marge
