    1988 Overbury's Pioneer

I should have it back in the next week or so - excited. Just need to sort a couple of bits of drivetrain and decide on cable outer colours and I’ll be ready for the first build. I intend to put some miles (and hopefully some scratches) on it this summer.

Wanted Wanted single XTR M900 cantilever fixing bolt and hardware

In recognition that threads with photos get more attention… These came off an odd Chas Bland touring frame I rescued off Gumtree some years ago. The fixing was missing at the time so they just went in the spares pile, thinking I might one day get lucky. I haven’t - so any ideas or help in...

Wanted Wanted single XTR M900 cantilever fixing bolt and hardware

Seems like a long shot, but I have a pair of XTR M900 cantilever arms but one of them is missing the assembly that holds the brake pad in place - I need the whole lot, the bolt with the slot, both concave washer thingies, the nut and washer from the back. Otherwise any pointers on after market...

The end is no longer nigh: Kona Bikes

A nice, short ‘tribute’ to Kona has appeared over at bikepacking.com; https://bikepacking.com/plog/kona-bikes-tribute/

The end is no longer nigh: Kona Bikes

I think it is entirely a matter of perspective. It seems to me that people that consider themselves to be primarily ‘mountain bikers’ are a smaller and smaller bunch these days and the predominant forms of off road cycling, at least the stuff the marketers - and this applies to all brands - have...

The end is no longer nigh: Kona Bikes

Not wishing to add to what seems to be rapidly escalating into a flame-war, but I am a little surprised and disheartened by some of the negativity on display in this thread, particularly the ‘ah well it was just another bike brand’ kind, given that the reason we are all on this forum is...

    All things Canadian.....

Another post to mark 10 years of this thread - an 11 year old photo! I’m pretty sure it was from this thread that I learned the ‘88 Cinder Cone pictured here, muddy in the Mendips, was painted by Paul Brodie…

Agreed - the hipflask bottlecage is so choice.

    1990 Overbury's Pioneer

Mine was ordered August of ‘88, it has a rear U-brake but is otherwise very similar to yours - same fork etc.

    1990 Overbury's Pioneer

Looks great! Makes me even more excited to start my (slightly earlier) Pioneer build. Are you going to source lilac bottle cages?

Wanted Deore XT M730 non-driveside crank (silver) wanted.

Thanks - I’ll bear those in mind. The OCD part of me was really hoping to unite a pair and make use of the original driveside… but I guess I can’t be too picky if I intend to get this thing done.
