Re: If you need anything else - just keep the questions coming! I also have a '97 Hardtrax (silver, blue decals ;) ) Headset on these was originally a 1&1/8" threaded, but you can (and I would) just remove it and replace with a threadless version if you haven't got or aren't worried about...

Re: Sounds like it just needs re-indexing. Should be relatively simple process but if not and you have a good LBS (Local Bike Shop) they can do it, as well as checking over chain, brakes, cabling etc. If you fancy doing it yourself, there are many guides out there on how to re-index a rear...

Re: Loctite can be a solution. Another might be a slight incompatibility between tapers. JIS and ISO aren't quite the same, and older machinery can be more susceptible to the difference in tolerances. Have you changed the BB recently, for example?

Re: 15.56" according to on-screen measurements. 16" (40cm) according to the nearest catalogues available (slight geometry variations in the frames, this one should be a '96). Toptube 535mm or thereabouts. And it's down in price again..

If anybody's interested in this; or parts from it, I can assist with payment/collection and hold/onward postage. I'm tempted...but it's such a survivor I'd be loathe to split it for parts (other than the unusable tyres, chronic pedals & seatpost), unless to good homes ;)

Re: Seller notes: “These are off my ex team spare bike. Rare and in excellent condition. Were fitted with Spinergy wheels.” Whether true or not, who knows; but they have an origin.
