    Wanted Saracen Obsession (1998)

Anybody have either a full bike for sale, or frame-only? There were a few around approx 3 years ago but all seem to have vanished now - would love to get my hands on one! https://www.retrobike.co.uk/attachments/image-jpg.395682

Mavic rims "made in France" vs "made in Romania"?

My reply is speculative, admittedly; however Mavic have been making the hubs and spokes in Romania for quite a while, along with all their carbon wheel production. The Alu rimes used to be made in france, then shipped to Romania for assembly into complete wheels. Whether the new owners just...

1991 Formula 1 Cycles full suspension - F1/08/S1 ex Deb Murrell

Wow.. I had no idea ole Dave Price ran a bike business on the side - and that Formula One Cycles was his!! Explains the Sauber Mercedes on the wall in the pics above; one of the teams he used to run) Perhaps most well-known for the McLaren F1 GTR racing exploits in the mid 90's...

    Early Saracen Lovers Anonymous......

Re: If you need anything else - just keep the questions coming! I also have a '97 Hardtrax (silver, blue decals ;) ) Headset on these was originally a 1&1/8" threaded, but you can (and I would) just remove it and replace with a threadless version if you haven't got or aren't worried about...

    What Peugeot is this?

Re: Looks like one of the Magnum series (aka CT 800) circa 1991/92. Prior to that they were Reynolds 531, and after then they started making them from Tange Prestige from about '95 on (though these years very by market across Europe). It's also about the cheapest way I've seen recently to...

    Raleigh M-Trax 50 Sport

Re: Sounds like it just needs re-indexing. Should be relatively simple process but if not and you have a good LBS (Local Bike Shop) they can do it, as well as checking over chain, brakes, cabling etc. If you fancy doing it yourself, there are many guides out there on how to re-index a rear...

    Keeping crank bolts tight.

Re: Loctite can be a solution. Another might be a slight incompatibility between tapers. JIS and ISO aren't quite the same, and older machinery can be more susceptible to the difference in tolerances. Have you changed the BB recently, for example?

Re: Apparently the seller - coincidentally - had a 92 Pantera frame to sell as well https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/92-Gt-Panter ... SwNmpfKCpS No decals though. Oh, and the Zaskar listing got ended, apparently an error in the listing.

    Mavic gone tits up

Re: There sounds like a lot of (deliberate?) misinformation and pot-stirring here from Mavic, and a LOT of misunderstanding and/or blind ignorance from websites on the while thing. Irrespective of the harm that a lack of investment has undoubtedly caused; the ownership is pretty normal - not...

Re: 15.56" according to on-screen measurements. 16" (40cm) according to the nearest catalogues available (slight geometry variations in the frames, this one should be a '96). Toptube 535mm or thereabouts. And it's down in price again..

    Torus with UGLI forks

If anybody's interested in this; or parts from it, I can assist with payment/collection and hold/onward postage. I'm tempted...but it's such a survivor I'd be loathe to split it for parts (other than the unusable tyres, chronic pedals & seatpost), unless to good homes ;)
