    Free PRO-FLEX!

My fault. Easter weekend. The shipping is astronomical. Almost $200 US. I dont think its worth that to anybody overseas for that price. Shipping in the last few years has become ridiculous.

    Free PRO-FLEX!

Re: Really? I know it isn't a Fat Chance but I'm surprised by the lack of interest. Come on fellas, some of you go to the ends of the earth to rebuild heavy entry level Konas and Hard Rocks and crap like that and you don't want a free ProFlex? No love for the elastomers. Maybe I...

Are all crown races the same?

Even if your old trusty steed has free ball bearings in the headset now, don't forget that most headsets came with caged bearings when new. ID and OD on caged bearings are consistent for same size steerer tube applications and are many times standardized items. Therefor what you need to do is...

    Which Cannondale BOTE??

Later Beasts have 1.125" head tubes and no cantilevered drop outs. 1.25" stuff isn't any easier to find that 1", and in many cases it can be harder to find specific brands. If you want ease of build and option choices, look for an 1.125: frame.

    Sad and lonely bits

I have to admit to right-click-save-as for the Kooka bits, but I wouldn't ride them. Put them on a shelf with some halogens on them and be through with it. :D

BoTM November 2013 - VOTE NOW

Got here too late to vote, but the Ti-Mega, Campy Fat and the Cyclone are on the podium for me, and would finish in that order, 3-2-1.

    What makes a great BOTM?

When I build a bike with the parts I want and progress is moving forward I usually can see something so subtle coming together that I know it will fly under the radar even if I enter it. I've never put something together to win specifically. I think if I took one of the steeds and gussied it...

    Mantis…

I don't know much about the Manitou stem reputation. Even there, even if I was building a Manitou frame, I think I'd have an ATAC instead. Those CNC wonky stems like Kooka and Machine Tech and Critical... they just weren't made to be....stems. I'd love some Machine Tech to hoard, but I...
