    Anyone into classic furniture

Conform partner chair and footstool. Swivel-recliner with adjustable head support. Not classic yet but genuine Scandinavian styling and super comfortable. Ridiculous impulse purchase but will be with me to the end.

    For Sale 6’ x 8’ apex shed

6’ x 8’ apex shed from Tiger sheds with no windows. It’s in great condition, coated since new and I think I even creosoted the underside of the floor. All shiplap, no OSB. Roofing felt will be destroyed when dismantling so budget for replacing that. Specs here...

Would you pay £1141 for a saddle ?

Open to be educated.. What’s the difference between this one and all the others on eBay?

Would you pay £1141 for a saddle ?

But it’s retro, and demand, and scarcity and inflation and Covid and profit and fees and blah blah blah. 🙄

What's happened to all the "stuff"

Tap a chi-chi bike into the search bar, scroll back a few years and look at the prices. Wicked Fat for £395, 1984 Stumpjumper for £225. Lots more examples for anyone bored enough to look.

What's happened to all the "stuff"

Prices are not low, they are simply dropping from their peak. When I first joined the site, prices were considerably lower than they are now. NOS Syncros stem - £36 including shipping. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/syncros-cattlehead-stem-nos.20584/ NOS Chill pills - £10 a set...

So what do you think about this 3iAtlas comet behaving weirdly in our Solar System?

All of these comments rely on a ‘human centric ’ interpretation of what life is, what a power source is, what time is and so on. Given the probable infinite nature of space, why would ‘alien life’ be bound by the same scientific or physical restraints that we are?

So what do you think about this 3iAtlas comet behaving weirdly in our Solar System?

Time is relative. A fly’s lifespan is 28 days, a dog’s is 15 years, a human’s is 80 years, these are species that coexist on one planet. What if human’s lifespan is 80 years to an aliens 28 days?

Full end to end gear cable housing?

Full cable housings are better, as long as they are quality cables, properly installed.

Hand-built Vintage Swallow Merlin Mountain Bike 1987 eBay

I’m in Cheltenham so it would be an easy sale but at 5’8” I’m a bit sceptical of the sizing and my bikes have to be riders. Still think there is a bit more to be done with the price as well (the fact it hasn’t sold bears this out). The echo chamber is strong but I think somewhere around £300...

    Repro “Onza Porc” white tyres

No one buying these will be riding them anywhere. Might as well make them from cheese, as long as ‘the look’ is right.

    Innovations that weren't...

CF layers should only move against each other if there had been some sort of damage or a huge f?!k up in manufacturing. I wonder how many CF frames are damaged by users not realising that they need to treat them differently, arguably with more respect than a ‘metal’ frame? CF is good enough...
