    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Indeed. I don't mind the tires. But skinwal tires woukd work well. The bike will come with me to Korea then Japan. So I will find something suitable there. BTW, any tips on how to use the screws of the wheels without damaging the bike paint?

Hi. Is there any tips to avoid having the nuts of the wheels scratching the bike paint when tying and untying them?

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Update 2: an Italia Super Turbo saddle is on its way. They were produce between 1985 and 1992 if I'm not mistaken. And as the bike is a bit original in its setup, having this saddle would have been possible. That being said, I am still looking for a Cinelli Unicanitor model 55 ;)

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Update 1: an uncut Campagnolo Record seatpost is on its way. It's a 180mm as there aren't longer options. So I might still look for a longer option for long rides.

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Agree, the paintwork is the original. The paint is very thick and typical of 80s in its depth.

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Good call indeed. I thought about MecaCycles from the beginning of my search. Their work on split seat tubes and the filler brazed parts were indeed the main reasons. Nevertheless I haven't found close enough clues to go in that direction. Their fillet brazed work on the split tube is a bit...

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

The seatpost on my bike is too short. It was a "racing" practice to cut the seat post in order to gain some grams. Unfortunately, I am taller than its first owner (even if the bike size is perfect for me). So now I have to find one matching this period and with a length of 20cm or above. For...

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Campagnolo introduced its first mtb (or atb) groupset in 1988: we can see here than a similar seatpost is featured in the catalog. Maybe as an alternative option. We also see this seat post in the Campagnolo dealer parts catalog of 1988: Sources: https://www.disraeligears.co.uk

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

It was the same in 1984 and 1985. In 1986, Campagnolo featured a seat post on the Record groupset that is closer to the one from the Super Record groupset from earlier years.

    Highlander bike??? Fillet brazed frame

Time to share some info on the seat post. Here is the one on the bike: It's a Campagnolo in 26.6mm diameter. We already found similar seatposts in early 80. Here are 2 pics from the USA Campagnolo catalog of 1982: Sources: https://www.retrobike.co.uk

Saddle comfort - Turbo vs Unicanitor

It seems https://velobase.com/default.aspx is a good source of info. I have found this description:"The Super Turbo does have a few enhancements over the standard model. The shell has anatomic depressions built into it to accept more padding under the sit bones, and the foam padding tapers to...

Saddle comfort - Turbo vs Unicanitor

Hi, Do you have any website recommandation on saddle history? I'm struggling to find info on the different Turbo models and their spec. This one for example: I wonder what was its purpose in comparison to the classic turbo.
