Wet Sunday afternoon, so decided to kill the time with a 4 hr rebuild of fire mountain with a parts bin sweep up. Think she turned out quite good really. Used 94 fire mountain frame 16" with some suspension corrected double butted p2's. Added a nice little S8 cane creek headset and 9 speed LX...

Cleaned up kilauea p2 forks today and changed decals to period correct 95. Thinking its looks more in keeping with bike now. Stable almost complete.....still looking for that elusive 95 Hei hei 🤞

Is the fire mountain p2's available? If so are they TB with 405mm axle to crown

Had this kilauea a few years now, its gone through some changes, but think I'm getting somewhere near to my preferred set up. Used mainly on road this one, so have now opted for riser bars like my other bikes for comfort and now just got some Triple Butted P2's which are 93 version so not...

Cranks are on, and already tested out. Feeling great and think they Finnish the bike off nicely 👍

These arrived yesterday thanks to andym999. They've cleaned up nicely and look great with a single chainring, so can't wait to get them fitted. Think they will compliment the curve brakes a treat....lets hope they dont crack 🤞

andym999 came through with these beauty's so will going on the explosif soon. Have swapped the spider round to show all bolts and to make it easier for future maintenance, can't see it causing an issue, unless you guys know differently?

Any of you lovely people out there have a set of clean Curve C3 Cranksets like this without chainrings but with spider as i want to use it as a 1 x. Preferably the 171 version as im a short arse 🤣 👍

Got Curves fitted last night and managed a cheeky 25miler on her today. They work a treat and i think they look better than the V Brakes. Considering some matching cranks if i can find a set in UK. They all seem to be in the states 😫

My 95 Kilauea moded to road/gravel spec. Absolutely love this bike.

Out with the newer Avid v brakes, and in with the old curve C3's.....love these chunky brakes, work really well after a bit of fettling. Will upload some pics once there on.

Yes, all built myself. The rear mech is a RD-M781-GS with recommended max sprocket of 36T, so didn't want to over stretch the cage by to much so went for a 40T probably could of gone to a 42T max without a goatlink. But if your mech is a SGS you should be good to a 46T as shimano do under rate...

She certainly is Ben. Gets abused at every opportunity then tenderly washed down and re-oiled, ready for the next thrashing 🤣

Definitely, my modern ride is a stanton slackline, which isn't worlds apart in style. Kona were truly ahead of the game back then.
