Shimano Deore XT BR-M734 cantilever brakes.Complete set - front and rear, complete with Shimano Deore XT brake pads, springs and bolts. Bought from eBay and not quite as sparkly as I had hoped. £40, plus post.

Yes saw those and felt happier with the choice to follow that path, although the bar is now high!

Thanks for the advice @bikeworkshop having looked into the cost of re-chroming or nickel plating, I'll be looking at paint options, hence the question, as I want to advise them appropriately! Makes sense that the area would be best left 'au natural'

Interested in knowing whether it's important to mask off the part that goes into the crown?
