cheap 26" Tyres at banana industries

I always thought PlanetX's marketing missed a beat when the Full Monty didn't come in bare aluminum.

    Wanted 28.6 Seatpost (or two)

Sorry, Apparently I'm dyslexic -- after measuring and rechecking I'm looking for a 28.6mm seatpost or two.

    Wanted 28.6 Seatpost (or two)

Looking for a 26.8 28.6 seatpost, with more than 200mm of extension -> saddle rails for the tandem stoker position. Preferably in black with m/l setback. In a stretch goal, I'd like one for the captain's position as well, but I'd need one with a pretty low profile in the center head. I'm...

    The Welsh Argos

That lacing looks soooo spare after building a pair of 36h wheels.

    My tandem wont stop!

The issue is probably either flex in the braking system, or poor friction. To check the flex, pull the levers really hard, and observe what happens to the cable housing, at the cable stop, the brake arms, and the fork arms. If there's something flexing, that's limiting the force at the rim. If...

    Rodriquez Softride tandem

Ok, twist my arm why don't you. It's a little dirty at the moment, as it gets ridden on Irish roads in the winter. Purchased new 2001 off the rack from R&E, so who knows when it was made. It has a mishmash of parts from the shop. For the frame -- Top tube is heavily ovalized, bottom tube is...

Late 40s / Early 50s René Herse tip find

Have you seen these cranks? They're a similar style, but a much larger bolt circle. (and far cheaper than the RH ones) https://freshtripe.co.uk/3-arm-classic-double-chainset/

    Rodriquez Softride tandem

We test rode a softride tandem when we were in the market for ours -- not the Rodriguez, probably a Burley. It definitely fixes the direct line from the rear wheel to the stoker's bum, but my stoker didn't really like it. Felt really wierd and disconnected. We wound up with a 26" Rodriguez...

    Rodriquez Softride tandem

I know it says aluminum, but I've got a steel Rodriguez of that era (without the softride) that has really similar joint details and tubing shapes, especially the ovalized top tube, the seat/chainstay sizes and the Capitan's seat tube going through the main diagonal tube.

Wanted Phil Wood 36 hole Front Hub

Wound up building the wheel with a White Industries MI-5 hub, which was basically the only 36 hole front hub (in polished/replaceable bearings/touring/tandem) I could find.

    1996ish Banana Boy RestoMod

BB is out, it took some persuading (heat + soaking in penetrating oil for days + 2' breaker bar finally worked). So looking more closely at it, it's EL-OS, and I'd totally believe fillet brazed. They're just small fillets. It's certainly not lugged, and if it is welded, the welds have been...

    1996ish Banana Boy RestoMod

Banana Boy was a brand from the framebuilder Matt Houle in Seattle, who started a business called Bicycle Specialties which did painting and frame building for both his brands and production work for others (including Rodriguez of R&E). (I've got a Rodriguez tandem as well, from ~ 2001 or so...

    1996ish Banana Boy RestoMod

I originally picked up this frame in the 96 or 97 from the original owner, built it up with a grab bag collection of parts. Rode and raced it for a few years, then it hung in the garage, then it was left in storage, and now I've finally retrieved it from the states for a bit of resto mod. It's...
