The ‘virtual’ village bicycle… (JMC 1994 Specialized FSR)

Delighted with this weeks acquisitions:

NOS D.C.D mk1 with the 2 bolt and the stamped logo, along with a separate spare NOS spindle ready for use in a decade or so.

In the actual race pics I’m trying to copy, it’s really difficult to tell which colour DCD it should be, but it’s def this one in use from the pics a month or so prior to race day, between the bike pick up photo shoot in California where he has then already changed the tyres & handle bar to red ones with a red mk1 DCD on it.

The best evidence is the single red tyre pic below still with the original fork on, suggesting it’s between the two events. Later on he changes the fork to red Jude’s & the dcd goes back to red again.

Also a great job from @gil_m on replicating the Grundig race plate on some lovely flexi PVC, hopefully like the originals as best we know:

now just got to punch 3 holes in it without ruining it (2 top corners & 1 bottom middle) then use some tiny white zip ties to fix it to the cables I assume, rather than to the bar.

Tempted to use white elastic bands or pipe cleaners as not to wear on either item, since this isn’t staying on just for race day !!
