    Any Rock Shox Mag 21 guru out there?

    Hi, The Performance Settings section in the Rock Shox Magnesium Service Manual 1996 [1] refers to compression and rebound bleed holes as tuning variables. W.r.t. the compression bleed holes, it can be read: The 1993 MAG valve body had two intake port valves with a compression bleed hole...

    Pace hub RC-50 XC -> MT-Lock conversion?

    Slide out the end caps. This will reveal the bearings. These are simply pressed to the hub shell. Remove the circlip found on one side of the hub. Gently tap on one end of the spindle to drive it through the hub shell. Doing so, the spindle will automatically pull out one of the bearings from...

    Freehub support removal

    But this means that the drive-side ball bearing is thus removed from the non-drive side, sliding all along the inner hub shell. And is thus not the KBC 6000D ball bearing that bikepro.com and I found on the newer design hub. Unfortunately, there isn't any seal with written/etched specs that...

    Freehub support removal

    It didn't go that well with the other older design Pulstar rear hub :eek:. Either the freehub support is too weak, being aluminum-made, or the freehub support was CNC-machined in the hub shell and isn't removable at all.

    Freehub support removal

    Even with the help of a heatgun, it required a considerable amount of torque (two people) to unlock the freehub support, hence the bending of the rod! But in the end, tadaaaaa!

    Freehub support removal

    Anyway, wrench ready, put in a vice and laced hub presented to the facing socket.

    Freehub support removal

    There you go. A dead freehub body was drilled to insert and weld in place a rod blocking the socket (initially, the rod was perfectly straight; more on this later). Yeah, I didn't have sufficient time to properly disassemble the freehub body (don't know how/what to do, BTW) so just brute force...

    BoTM Bike of The Month May 2025: Bar-end Special. Now taking entries

    I think I entered it for regular BoTM back at the time. But since this BoTM is special, am I allowed to enter it again? Please discard if that's not the case. @foxb13's 100% original condition Raleigh USA MT700 RSI John Tomac design series with Tioga PowerStud barends. Inspection thread...

    Restoration of a Rock Shox Mag 21 Sl Ti including color

    Indeed, some kits came with the top out sleeves only and the Conversion Instructions sheet said this is all what is necessary besides adjusting oil level 10mm lower: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/94-erm-92-well-93-rocky-mountain-cirrus-rebuild.390738/post-2889967
