Very true on all counts...It's 1980s...possibly 1050 or 1055ish? I will prob pop down to LBS with a list of the possible issues and see what one he reacts to best? Then I will suggest maybe whip it off and replace with a Campag one which I know was working perfectly as it comes off another...

I hate to blame the LBS but it's the easiest thing to do lol. I have a rather nice used Campy somewhere 😁
