I enjoyed reading your thread @sinnerman . As all Roberts bikes were custom built for each buyer I find it really interesting to imagine who the original buyers were and what the frames specs were. I presume all buyers had to physically visit the Roberts shop to order / collect the bikes. Like...

One of my absolute dream bikes is a Pro Comp XT with a u-brake, like in the 1989 catalogue. Alas I think this was catalogue spec only and by the time the bikes were shipped to dealers they all had cantilevers. So one day I’d like to build my own version 😄

Hi all - wanted: 1 inch quill stem with 115-120mm reach (centre to centre) with a built-in brake cable guide (i.e. internal routing / roller / etc). (22.2mm diameter quill to fit steerer tube and with 25.4mm handlebar clamp) Ideally black. Thanks

For a more left field option there is USE. 92-94 era. Cool posts but up to you if it fits or not with the build theme/mix of parts.
