As a foot note he owned a totally original RRA which was lovely. I have posted this before.

From what I remember the gentlemen who owned it had refinished the frame and chrome work. He did all his own paint work at home. Yes he did use some later components, than that would of been originally fitted . It all depended on what he had to hand .

It would of been at the time when the first Gran Sport and Blue Streak models were released in about 1962.

When I visited we would talk for hours about Raleigh bikes. He was a Vcc member for a long time ,although he rode very little in later years.

I believe it was a 1960's model . I have been unable to find anything on the net.

All I know is this was an example of one with regards the colour scheme. Not sure about how true the components used ,were to the model as sold. Chap concerned did all his own paint work and would even make his own decals if none were available. He could copy almost any printed item . It...

Anyone know anything about this model? The one pictured belonged to a chap who was a big Raleigh collector. This is the only one I have ever seen.

Bought a used one of these years back for £50 . Lovely frame geometry and mudguard clearance. Became my commuter ride for a long time .

Whilst on ride to the West Country i came across this lovely Church at Richards Castle. Built in the 1890's in the Norman style

Reflects the state of the second hand market if folk are giving bikes away .

I have heard plenty of jokes about white sugar , but ones about brown, demerara.

You can buy leather off cuts on line . Not expensive, wrap round the frame where you need the padding. Hold in place with zip ties . I use it when clamping a bike in my work stand .
