Wanted Axle/cones for Deore Dx FH-M650

I think I've got a dx or perhaps LX rear hub I don't need. It's a full wheel but would not be asking a lot for it. I've also got a couple of axle kits but not sure what wheels they are for. I can dig them out and see.

    M569 / M739 outer chainring problem

I think that's the same as one of mine, the other is a lezyne which seems to fit better for middleburn lock rings. And yes, spider orientation is important as if not right some parts foul the crank arm, but it's pretty obvious which way to fit the spider so I doubt it's that. I have had some...

    White tyres

I think they might look better on the other bike. Nice tyres obvs but I think there can be too much of a colour.

    Wanted M970 / Thomson / Sids

Here's a few pics of what I've got. There's 2 groups. One is all the m970 bits you've mentioned and the best condition wise. The first group is all in vgc. Cranks have the typical logo wear but rings are decent The other is a smaller collection of some of the parts. Rear shifter in this set...

    M569 / M739 outer chainring problem

I suspect the lock ring has been drifted off using a screwdriver and mallet but the challenge is now getting it back on and tight enough to lock the chain ring in place. I have e a couple of these tools, I'll try and get a pic shortly.

Innovations that are no more but maybe still should be

Inspired by this thread: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/innovations-that-werent.483790/. While milling over the annoyance of internal routing (did that get a mention in the inspirational thread?), it got me thinking about things that once upon a time were considered useful or better but...

Damned internal routing. Best way to replace a rear brake hose?

Yes, I've resorted to buying some damping foam to put around the cables on one bike. Rather stupid really.

Damned internal routing. Best way to replace a rear brake hose?

Ha, that's like all the BS eBay descriptions these days. At least it was accurate.

Damned internal routing. Best way to replace a rear brake hose?

The bearing tools arrived today so looks like I'll be tackling this at the weekend. With the cables in place life should be easier. I've done a few in the past too, the coat hanger is my tool of choice if no cables or hose already there. It will be a full strip and rebuild so hopefully I...

    XT M785 Brake Levers

I managed to find the brake I knew I had, but it's a right hand lever I'm afraid. I may have a couple of Deore levers, need to check I have both left and right, but should have. They were retired as I replaced the brakes due to a suspected leaky calliper (micro-leak.i heard it referred to)...
