    Worst Bike I Ever Had

. Lots of dealers imported them (or bought them from an importer). They didn't look too bad, with forged ends and cut out lugs. I remember feeling inside one and it had seamed tubing and loads of powdery rust. We knew them as falk frames. I later bought one of these - a frame off a mate for...

For Sale Modern - Focus Culebro alloy frame, Carbon fork and parts

Given the era of the frame, I wouldn't bet anything bigger than 25mm for the tyres. Anything bigger back then was sport bike or touring bike territory

Sorted Wanted: 1990s Raleigh Randonneur Reynolds 708 58cm

Lovely for a buyer, less so for a seller. At the moment prices are rock bottom. But that follows a point 10 years ago when prices were at a high on the back of Eroica UK. Most sellers, unless it's a bereavement sale or a "clear the garage at any cost" sale are hanging onto what is surplus to...

    Unusual downtube bosses

A cross frame doesn't have downtube shifters, so doesn't have DT bosses. The shifter is on the bars, a cable runs into those bosses in your photo The bottom one is the outer cable stop, the top one is the outer cable guide to keep it in place

    Does anyone here build wheels?

To be fair, even with new stuff, you can't really mess up as such. Yes, you might find yourself in some state of confusion and want to undo it and start again, but that's only 'wasted' time - the 'wasted' being in quotes as it's time put to education. The only parts you can bugger up are...

    Does anyone here build wheels?

I taught myself as a teen using this book. It's more like a pamphlet than a book, but will tell you all you need to know. As for spoke length, there are a number of Excel spreadsheets out there where you plug in what hubs and rims you have and how many crosses.

For Sale Mark Reilly Omega steel bike

A 52cm top tube combined with a 57 seat tube is a highly unusual design. I can see the measuring tape in both photos, but I'd be inclined to recheck. If there is a measuring discrepancy, it's probably with the top tube ..... Have you measured a 'short cut' somewhere? Also, if it's a sloping top...
