Aero Garbage Wind Resistant a lie

They would both be dead before they agreed on the tech specs of the duel. How far is a 'pace' they would ask.

They didn't pour water on the Brooks did they? Lovely but spendy Ciocc

Lovely but looks a bit sorry for itself set up as single speed.

Aero Garbage Wind Resistant a lie

I was looking at the top fairing and thinking what bike is that from...looks like a Kawasaki. GPZ/GPX600, GPX750, GTR1000.

Aero Garbage Wind Resistant a lie

Does the aforementioned hole count as an aero gain? And is it UCI legal???

Aero Garbage Wind Resistant a lie

The great thing about 'aero' is it gives all the anoraks a chance to communicate with other anoraks about aero things - giving solace that they are not the only crushingly dull person alive.

Mavic CPX 12 700c rims question.

They are 14mm internal width. Officially you are good to 28mm according to Mavic. Unoffically you can go higher. I've run 32mm on MA40s which are just a tad narrower. Many here will have run wider than that on this width rims. Something trad shaped like a vittoria rando will pose no issue but a...

Megalodon sized Mercian + claud butler £110 - Ripon

Head lugs look like Vincitore spec. Someone spent a lot of money on these and the braze ons. My size too and I would be all over this but I'm starting to drown a bit in tourers and I'm promising myself a built to spec Mercian touring frame when funds allow (if they ever allow). That and its a...

    Orbit 531 (c?) CX bike, 2 wheel sets, Sora 9sp 55cm - Southam

No bottle or mudguard fixings, high bottom bracket...its the real thing, the once common and now very thin on the ground steel cyclocross bike.

    £50 MB Dronfield (Large) SE.London

Nice one for taking the plunge. Rusty bits dont look too bad from here (70 odd miles and wearing rose tinted varifocals :)). The pinkiness looks great in proper daylight.

    Cyfac in Manchester

This was on ebay a little while ago IIRC. You know the quality of that frameset is right up with the best. Someone out there will appreciate this as - as a thoroughbred top notch steel race bike. I don't think its going to move quickly though. The paint and graphics are very much of their...

1980s chromed 'Bob Read Cycles' restomod

Great looking build. Right decision to keep the red graphics IMHO otherwise its just back and chrome with no relief. And great Brutalist backdrop for the pics!

    The British bike thread

I stopped for a coffee last week in a similar situation. Non cyclist customers stopped to look at my bike (a humble Coventry Eagle Touristique) and complemented me on it. One old boy said 'nice lightweight' which made me smile. They didnt bat an eyelid at the CF Treks, 'rellos and Ridleys. You...

    Vintage French randonneuer's and porteurs.

Even with the standards set on this here thread - that is brilliantly thought out and executed...and bloody gorgeous.

    £50 MB Dronfield (Large) SE.London

Great appraisal @Rotorhead - thanks for taking the time to relay. Sounds like the bikes been used as intended with the rusty top tube. I get the feeling the owner doesnt know what he has and has acquired this bike (hopefully legally)..and would probably take £40.

    Older seat bolt size query

You can consider a re-tap to metric (as @bikeworkshop says the thread is in all likelihood imperial). I retapped to 8mm in my case but I had to grind the cap head down on the metric bolt I had to fit in the cup on the R side of the cluster. Sorry, just read you lost the bolt...you kind of have...

531C , 3T stem, Cinelli bars, Campag aero seatpost...it could be a decent find. And what a 'lock-up' eh? (nobody in SE London has a garage, its always a lock-up cos it sounds more gangsta). I kind of want that mad looking TV more than the bike.
