    Today's Ride

Bit warm this morn8ng, even with going out a bit early to try and beat the heat! Bit further than last time, just under 15km. But Sun’s out, which means Ku’s out. Coos were also out, but not highland flavour and sensibly sitting in the shade.

“Yes” - the answer to question “What colour is your bike?”

Show us your 700C ATB / MTB / Hybrid

26 to 700 will def need an adaptor. I’ve a Mavic adaptor on the rear of my Saracen, so that it can run 700c wheels rather than 26, think they are 28x700c tyres, with not a huge amount of clearance. Linkything...

    Today's Ride

Not far, <4km, no bridges or other structures of note, but 1st ride outside since last year! 😁 And yes, this was the most technical section of the ride! 🤣

They ride lovely with P2s - have a few pictures somewhere of my (since gone) 19” on P2s.

Can’t, prior commitment on the Saturday in the opposite direction.

    Malverns Classic 2025

I guess my comment was a coded “could it sneak onto the Kona stand for the day” @al-onestare

    Malverns Classic 2025

Any still come, but would be the Sunday - would it be worth bringing a bike? None of mine really warrant “show and shine”, well the Ku might, but that rules itself out with 2012 brakes, and 202x 2x10 transmission among other finishing kit, and not prepared to faff around swapping for one day. 🙂

    Malverns Classic 2025

Wonder if they’re trying to push you to getting weekend tickets, only £108.30 for upto Thursday to Monday. But agree, £50 is a lot to stand around and talk rubbish about bikes for the day.

    How accurate are catalogs?

    Very much an aesthetic issue!

    How accurate are catalogs?

That’s good, as I have both threaded and unthreaded triple butted P2s - it’s currently has the threaded fitted. When I can get to it, I’ll go and start measuring to see if my splined/fluted ‘94 is really a ‘94 or a sneaky ‘93. 😀

    How accurate are catalogs?

So should I be running 395s or 410s?

    How accurate are catalogs?

Yep, hence why I see the issue being in the tube selection phase. Still doesn’t answer the splined/fluted vs round in ‘94 Explosifs question. Cant currently reach mine (other crap in the way) to see if there is evidence of ‘93 colouring under the ‘94 green on mine.

    How accurate are catalogs?

In my mind, it looks like a failure long before trying to join tubes together - my “embedded software engineer” mind is asking why didn’t they spec a seat tube to match properly?

    How accurate are catalogs?

I saw a ‘94 at York in ‘23 with round down tube, I was more struck by the somewhat agricultural joint between top tube and seat tube.

    How accurate are catalogs?

Do they even still have catalogues? Thought is was just a web-page that may or may not get changed if needed ‘cos they’ve run out of 200GS and want to fit 80GS. 🙂

Likewise, only it’s in Croydon, and I already have an 18” ‘98 Kila.

Wonder what it will run to, £20 would be a bargain.

Won’t be 853, should be 631, and nothing wrong with 631!

    Anyone into classic cars

Good spot (I never noticed it, even back then) Production Escort Cosworth’s were a bit of a mix depending on trim level I assume, eg door handles being black or body coloured. Well they were standard for the Escort Cosworth Another good spot.
