Technically you’d be a 18 size but with a long post you will be ok.

I’d want way more inserted on any frame to be honest.

They are a 27.2. Usually Zaskars are pretty robust. But 98 is the most common with cracks out of all the years. However that doesn’t mean that they are all bad. Just best to be slightly more careful Frame is a 16 inch so would suit someone upto 5.10 at a max.

I’ve had many many Zaskars mainly purchased from old guys who “only rode to the shops” and I’ve had 3/4 cracked 98 ones. It was a weak spot when they moved to the integrated seat clamp design unfortunately. Make sure you have lots of seat post inserted

I’d also check carefully around the seat clamp / top tube junction for cracks. Unfortunately 98 was the only year that seems to have this issue.

Yes there are various people who do them. However they aren’t 100% correct. If your decals are decent I’d certainly keep them.

Yes that’s a 98 LE. I had one new in 1998 with that decal colour. I’m still hunting a nice one down to recreate my old build from back in the day

    97 Ku build & now a 98 Ku

Bet I’ve got 20-30 sets of V12s , XT spds etc but none are fitted. Much easier to store without them and it’s not like I’ll be riding it

    Dekerf Team SL build

As a few other builds come to an end. I can start to look at the Dekerf The frame will be painted , but I’m torn between a candy red (slightly lighter than the OE paint) or a candy magenta. In terms of spec I’ve a few bits left over from other builds already which suit. I’m thinking M952...

    97 Ku build & now a 98 Ku

Cabled up the 97. Just needs a saddle now and it’s done. This may end up with M950 brakes , levers and shifters at some point but for now ….

    97 Ku build & now a 98 Ku

Yeh I think so too. This frame has a bit of story though as it was sent out to a guy to use whilst he waited for a warranty replacement. Detailed on here. So maybe it was a factory second that Kona just used as a loaner. That somehow survived

    97 Ku build & now a 98 Ku

Last night I was cabling the 97 up and noticed that the weld on the chainstay isn’t there as you’d expect Anyone else have a 97 like this? It’s not damaged. It’s almost like it was forgot. The non drive chainstay is as you’d expect.

Who can tell me which model of GT this titanium frame is? I've never seen before.

Imagine if a person joined a forum to ask “anyone know anything about this Paul Newman Daytona made from Ti” People would go through the same process as us. Look at detail etc , say it doesn’t exist …… and then when the news hits that the person is located in China , and is involved in the...

Who can tell me which model of GT this titanium frame is? I've never seen before.

I still find it interesting. That someone would do it and why. I’m convinced it’s not a GT proto. As I’ve said before the quality isn’t there or the hallmarks of GT ti I can only think that the Xizang or Lightning is simply too rare in China for them to have one to copy initially.
