Another epic mud-fest instead of Gravel today... 108 km and 680m alt in 5 hrs 30 min and pouring rain that started 3 days ago, so everything was sogged already 😃 🤦‍♂️ . Enjoyed it nevertheless ☺️. Will clean bike and clothes tomorrow, today I´m too tired.

Nope. They fixed the tarmac a couple of years ago, both ways, up and down as the road is actually a one-way-loop to the mountain and back into the city 😃

I even tried to adjust them to 700c wheels, and they worked 😃

You are definitely not alone ;) I did the same to my ´92 Stumpy and to Mrs. Oligali´s ´95 KHS. Both bikes are built up non-period-correct, with various parts from the parts bin. Just because I could 😉. Cheers.

Thanks again @Theeastisred but I managed to solve it locally in a DIY bicycle workshop run by volunteers. They hoard all sorts of old and odd parts, just perfect for me today. I found the right bottom bracket, installed it myself, donated some money to them and am now preparing to pack up some...
