Yep, that sounds amazing! I've done a very similar walk with friends years ago, we went via Fur Tor right in the middle of one of the most remote... But also rather boggy... Bits of the moor. I remember jumping from island to island of peat, and sinking up to the knee wherever you placed a foot...

Where abouts in the UK were you based?

Dartmoor is pretty special in terms of its feeling of wilderness, probably as good as it gets in the South of England IMO. I was never that far away from a road on this loop, but it's possible to get a good distance from any roads or dwellings right in the middle (admittedly rather boggy!)...

It's a great place to grow up. Glad the pics have brought back happy memories 🙂
