A few months ago I purchased an early 90's Shimano XT groupset from Italy (eBay) which cost a fair bit but never had extra custom charges, other than the cost of shipping. Neither did I get charged customs on a frame and forks shipped to me from Norway last year. Great sellers by the way...

possibly the best looking post '95 Zaskar LE, I love those bold yellow and blue decals! It really completes the bold look of the bike, aggressive yet refined!

@sam_white yes you could be right, I have a vague memory of those bikes being sold and seen on the streets. This is what the complete bike would have looked like, not sure on the year but most likely '94-'96

It has finally begun, the forks are being stripped of it's paint right now, photos will follow...

I use my retro GT's for a commute to work mostly as I don't want to wreck them by going off road!

I have to agree that wider bars are great for stability and leverage. but I would be a bit cautious to have them on my GT FlipFlop stems, I think it would be quite easy to stress the thin plate and bolts too much, or am I just paranoid about that?

Lovely looking bike and love those tidy Ritchey drop outs too. Had a couple of frames with those dropouts myself. I can imagine that would ride very nice too.

Absolutely, my '92 Bravado is the best by far, it kind of is energising to ride, I love the feel of the True Temper steel frame, it's responsive and light. Very happy how that build turned out. Second favourite is my '91 Avalanche and my modern GT Zasker LT Expert. The Avalanche's ride quality...

Just updated my GT collection as per signature (minus the '91 Zaskar as that is not ready yet😛). Note the little cat Mushi in the box by my favourite bike....he also has good taste.

Next thing I'll need is replacement decals....

I have just received the paint stripper (Peel Tec on @PhillB's recommendation, thank you) earlier this week and have also placed an order for some paint and other stuff from Graff-City... Things are moving in the right direction.;) I am taking my time with this project as I am new to spray...

I am going get my '91 Zaskar polished very soon and yours looks great, did you use a powered polishing device or polish it by hand? As for the bottom bracket, I have a Tange threaded BB waiting to be fitted, 68x122mm, that should be long enough. I appreciate that the chain stays will be wider...

I don't have a shed but I'd need a bigger house instead!
