For Sale Rare Guarini Road Bike

Do you have photos of the head badge and fork crown engraving? Thanks! Do not know if you sold it or not; I live too far away otherwise I would get it myself (shipping would probably be too high to make it worth my while).

    Olympus? 1970's/80's road bikes.

There was the Fuji or Nishiki Olympic; not sure what the livery was though. My first thought was Olmo (they made every type of bike from roadsters to top racers). Close in spelling, and use of Olympic rings front and center. Unfortunately, the "O-rings" are fairly conmon on bikes made around...

rBoTM RBotM May 2025 - Open Month - Poll Now Up!! Vote Now!!!

I am entering a yellow bike next time if appropriate to the theme. Maybe I'll get at least one vote if Nob casts a vote since I too have not voted for my own entry (wouldn't matter anyways; always outclassed, but entering to keep this going!).

rBoTM RBotM May 2025 - Open Month - Poll Now Up!! Vote Now!!!

I'd appeal for a revote or next highest vote getter takes it. I did not enter this month as a bike I managed to complete also sold in short order since someone saw it before completion (no one would have known if entered); but the rules are simple enough. I doubt it was anything other than an...

    Brake ID please!

Here are my Chorus "monos". What @SteelNipple referenced for the spring retainer is correct. Not sure of they are 1st or 2nd gen. though; bike c.'92. The Veloce are probably early version after change in design when Mirage was first started; but both had cheap plastic covers instead of cone...

    Campagnolo Cuestions ;)

@fiveSixteenths here's what I did with the mechs on the bike; photos are not great, but all stamped lettering/logos and raised lettering/logos are painted (including other parts). Shift levers have REG hoods not Campagnolo (only had green and blue options available).

    Panto experts wanted!

@mdvineng Definitely a more modern design. I think the Coppi is correct regardless of font thickness. Panto's do not always duplicate actual logos so variations are common. My late '80s Coppi fork:

Modern compact shape bars with a 26mm clamp size for resto-mod build please?

no idea what you want, but I use this generic bar; ~$15 new.

    Campagnolo Cuestions ;)

I could never quite get onboard with the looks of that design (same as Valentino Extra, except weird cage plate?); but I liked the shifter design over what I use (earlier w/slot headed bolts) regarding looks and ease of adjustment. The "UFO" style (c.'70/'71 to ?; used in Valentino, Velox & NGS)...

    Lightest Steel Frame?

I have an early '90s Basso with I believe "EL" (maybe "EL-O" looking at the photo). Never stripped the frame (Chorus group) and fork is replacement so hard to figure from feel; but still lighter than my other stuff. (Sorry, old in the process of moving photo). I have a late '90s "853" tubed...

    Gandolfi "Super" '85/'86

Another cycling mystery solved; only took 3 yrs! After some more indepth research regarding this bike and its history I was able to speak with a resident of Brescia Italy. He informed me that Pierfranco Vianelli who was a multiple Olympic medalist from Brescia and who was building frames for...

    Asian "Brooks" saddle modification

It has nothing to do with "sense"; but instead personal preference. If it had to do with "sense" as you use the term, you would be calling everyone who rides around in comfort on a Brooks saddle senseless which of course is false. Those folks personally prefer to use the saddle of their choice...

    Frame identification

I still have a Gran Sport c. '79 frame sitting somewhere; I remember it pretty much had a Campagnolo Gran Sport group on it because I took it in trade for those parts; otherwise it was painted (over chrome?) & badged as a Specialized for whatever reason. I will see if I can dig some old photos...

    Asian "Brooks" saddle modification

I got thus unused fake "Brooks" style saddle in a bike deal (read as: guy cleaning out garage giving away free stuff) years ago; including a real B.17 which was barely used. This saddle unfortunately had/has a couple issues (why I do not buy them) both from the factory and made by the previous...

    Colnago or No Go?

@SteelNipple I was wondering that myself unless Ciöcc had other BB drains. I could see the possibility of making a Colnago drain into a Ciöcc (but why?); but not the other way around. @Canuk I have no idea what a Colnago "Competition" is in an era prior to the mid-'80s; never ever heard of that...

    Colnago or No Go?

If you are meaning the "Sport" had an unadorned crown like the initial frame photo then I would agree (Colnago did not manufacture any "Sport" models inhouse). I do not know if those frames ever received a "Colnago" fork in later years (I have no idea how long it was made) or not since all the...

    Colnago or No Go?

the Sport had slotted BB drain (at least some did), the Export is a Super geometry with blank stay caps and a "non-specified" Columbus tubeset (AELLE?). Neither had those "spearpoint" stay caps.

    Colnago or No Go?

So I asked the seller after seeing the photos if the fork was original to the frame; reply was yes. The guy was irritated that I asked the most basic questions amyone thinking of spemding even $100 would ask. I requested photos showing top view of seat cluster and tops of head lugs. He stated...

    Colnago or No Go?

Thank you for those Yes, custom ordered on many longer frames. Now I need to check my weird Saronni's guides (checked, it has clamp-on guides; stock was 3 so probably removed at some point).

    Colnago or No Go?

Was doing some research and came across this being sold. Things seemed a bit odd so I contacted the seller and stated that I did not think it was a Colnago "Super"; but maybe another model (that I've never seen before). I asked a couple questions (there were only 7 photos) and referenced by...
