Thanks for sharing, very interesting! Can the same mold be used for kevlar bead? I guess a thinner version / less material is not possible as a thinner "casting" would require material to be added to the mold, or is it perhaps the inner part / a "balloon" that determines that?

CK was made by various welders, so there was some difference between frames over the years. I've had one and it was very nice and has not had an issue.

Approximate year of manufacture would be useful, if you could add please, where available.

I would think the opposite, a shop that has access to lots of tubing and ordinary welders, and that is considering expanding into making bicycle frames. In particular bc they apparently did not put much weight onto the matter of weight ;)

if it was made or ordered by gt i doubt they would let it leave the company. a competent brand would cut it up so it could not be mistaken for a real frame.

little logic to make it like that, for a maker like GT, or a competent client. it will be heavy and stiff. welds and finish look like early 90s eg litespeed wo polish, but could easily be 2020s in an amateurish shop. the machined bosses look like 90s TW to me. the fact thst it is in CN though...

klein painted their own frames and parts, also forks. the purple paint was not done at rock shox. the internals are standard rock shox.

Certainly understandable, and I asked bc it appeared you may still have it for sale and I was amazed that you managed to dent it. Maybe the tubing on mine is thicker, and hence your old frame would have been lighter. But we'll never know.
