    Campag lay offs.

for me you can’t get better than record 10 speed. Easy to set up, never needs adjusting, great brakes, light perfect shifting even under load and looks beautiful. Every bike I have is Campagnolo equipped but then I started in the late 70s when every de ent bike had it. It’s stuck with me...

    Campag lay offs.

Since the early 2000s maybe. Before that you didn’t see Italian bikes with Shimano or sram.

    Campag lay offs.

So sad, tge most iconic brand in the history of cycling by a long way. Many have said before they could concentrate on a different market, high quality alloy forging with replaceable parts, both for retro and modern bikes. They could also do limited runs of many of their classic parts and the...

    Which Benotto 1978-1980

Benotto used contract builders in many small outfits with spare capacity to produce his frames. The 3000 on the whole were good quality. They were early adopters of investment cast lugs, which is why they still weren’t as good as De Rosa who were still using pressed, predominantly Dubois, lugs...

    Which Benotto 1978-1980

Yes, defo 2500. They only seemed to ever do them in the champagne or blue in that era. I would say 1979. Contrary to popular opinion they weren’t built by De Rosa. The only ones built by De Rosa were the filotex/Sanson team bikes. The one at the start of “a Sunday in hell - 1976 Paris roubaix”...

Any interest in sprint wheels for tubs?

Not sure you would…latex is very thin and distorts much more readily than butyl so would be maintained within the stronger carcass…

Any interest in sprint wheels for tubs?

Just got hold of a couple of Clement yellow label Setas. One doesn’t hold air and doesn’t even pump up to try and find a hole. As they are NOS I guess the tube has just perished. Has anyone ever replaced the whole tube by the following method- Remove base tape and h snip the stitching for 3...
