    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

Cheers Brocklanders, that’s good, I have a pair of DX shifters ready to fit. Out of interest is the front mech cable routed on the top guide or below the BB? Apologies for all the questions…I assume your Clockwork is a 89/90? Thanks again.

    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

Really nice original looking bike, thanks Brocklanders for the offer of more info. That’s interesting, I thought they were all gloss apart from the black versions. Really like the larger graphics on the early frames. I have some frame preparation to sort , few pin holes etc, but I hope to...

Show us Ya Citrus Fruit! (Orange Content)

Cheers, those forks were really the best of a bad bunch. I had some 1” GT and some others which were just very wrong. I’m trying to keep it on rigid forks, but the old Pace forks do appeal. 1” quality forks seem a bit rare and command serious prices, which maybe another thing…unless as you...

Show us Ya Citrus Fruit! (Orange Content)

Thanks Baron von greenback. The front end is a bit of a bodge to be fair …. The forks were all I could find at the time and I had to butcher the stem to fit as the steerer tube narrows about half way. So rather than ruin an original and to get the height, I decided on the Marin type and some of...

Show us Ya Citrus Fruit! (Orange Content)

Another more recent completion….just awaiting a final adjustment of gears , brakes etc. Bought as a bare 92/3 frame. Not entirely convinced about the front end, non original forks which are light but unknown maker. Seller claimed they were Roberts ? Marin type roller stem, Hot rod 2s which all...

Show us Ya Citrus Fruit! (Orange Content)

Recently completed a full strip and sympathetic clean up of the frame and touch ins …doesn’t get any easier than satin black. Just crank caps on after another try out. Few additions, orange hot rods ,Stalk decals, Onzas, flite, inner cables, chain, crank, big ring , tiogas and home brew booster...

    Rattle inside of Kona P2

The Waxoyl will set and should catch the loose bit(s) depending on size. I’ve done this on a few frame tubes, when I just cannot shake out the rust…very annoying!

    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

Thanks, now I look properly that’s it. Great help that, as I mentioned my colour perception is really abysmal. I have a selection of Clockworks , built and frames. But most from 92/93 with colours that I believe were different shades of Orange then, Carrot etc? Some very faded, which can only...

    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

My intention is all Orange, and I am really crap at colour matching! I’ve been looking at RAL 2004 as a possible. Thanks again Brocklanders02 & Mace4130, much appreciated

    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

Thanks , this is looking good. The drop outs do look the same as you say and the joints to the tubes. Just curious about that frame number now. The forks I have are as yours also. Am I correct with colours Satin Black, Flouro. Orange/ white, Yellow fade/ white & all Flouro. Orange for this...

    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

Thanks Brocklanders02. The head tube is 100mm, and takes a 1” headset. I’ve seen the some of the early Clockworks have both front & rear mech cables routed under the BB. This has the rear mech cable routed along the top tube and top of the seat stay. Seem to change a few times over the years...

    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

Thanks Mace4130, that’s positive! My frame has lots of similarities, the serial number runs parallel to the BB cups on mine and to be honest the welds in places ( bit splattery!) are not as tidy as the ones on your picture. Without the front mech cable guide on the upper side of BB also. I’m...

    1989 Orange Clockwork frame? 🤞

I bought this bare frame about a year and half ago. It was advertised as an 89 Clockwork. It has many early Clockwork features, and cable routing under the BB. The rear stays are thicker and more substantial than later 90s The serial number begins 88] I just wanted to be sure it is what it’s...

Very standard 1993 Orange Clockwork Suntour XC Expert

    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

Anyone? It’s titanium, no markings or numbers. Very light and thin walled. Aluminium sleeve in the centre, again no markings. I thought Xlite , but uncertain if they made these curly ones?

    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

I bought a set of stubby type Venhill “Venom” bar ends in June 1992 from Crag Rat cycles of Lincoln. They were bare alloy with the same decal. Bit chunky , but well made and light. Looked good on the Fusion 0260 they came with…..at the time.

Apologies Novocaine, the only reason I know bike shed was a bit high end , and all I could afford was the sweat shirt and I lived with the logo for a few years. How many Bike… Shack, shak , shed & huts must have come and gone? Not so sure kingoffootball, tidy frame though. All I remember they...
