Thanks Rumble, you are correct about the rarity - the young policewoman I reported it to did not know what a tandem was - I had to explain it is a bicycle for two people.... but I did say I would give her a ride if she found it for me. Hmmmh, that did not come out right did it...

I recently got stuck trying to find bearings and axles and brake parts for the rear Atom hub (with drum brake and five-speed block) on my 1982 Peugeot Grand Touring tandem. I tried cycle shops, tandem specialists etc and then had the thought that Motobecane, Mobylette etc mopeds might have the...
Hi Loramski
You have not found the Peugeot original frame number yet - the one shown in the pics has been stamped after the frame was painted - more recently basically.
Have a look at these pics, scroll down the page and there is my bottom bracket with where you will find the numbers. They...
If you post up the frame number, I can probably tell you the exact year, or look on http://retropeugeot.com for the original catalogues.
Sounds like you are stuck in the same dilemma that I have had. I have a 1980 PKN10 'Competition' model, one down from the PX10, with a frame too large for me...
I had one of these rather primitive computers on my 1980 PKN10E before it was stolen (see http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... +recovered for the full story).
Mine was silver with black buttons but I cannot be fussy now...

Hi dyna-ti
Not sure where you are based but if you are in London anytime, you are welcome to try my Peugeot 25 1/4 inch bike, it rides well and could give you an idea of what size you want. The top tube is proportionally longer and is a slight stretch for me (6 foot tall, in normal proportions)...
Well, I have a 1980 Peugeot PKN10 (one model down from the famous PX10 pro model) with a 25 1/4 inch frame. I have just bought a 23 inch frame as the 25 1/4 was always too large for me. If you are interested, have a look at this thread with pics of the bike...
And as you can see, the plastic cable guide under the bottom bracket on mine has 'marque deposee' on it (does yours?), also your forks are full chrome. This means it may well be a PX-10 or at least you can paint and badge it as a PX-10 bike (with the right parts fitted' or as a CFX-10 frameset...
Try and post the frame number up here, and also if the down tube transfer has the Clapham address, it is pre-1956 (a real Claud Butler, made in Manor street, Clapham). Post a photo of the downtube transfer.
If anyone is coming up to London from Trowbridge area, you could help me out a lot by collecting a bike frame and meeting me at the jumble?
Would really appreciate it.
Thanks
