Tested eight different derailleurs with the semi-vertical Shimano UF dropouts and all seem to work fine. Well not tested, but atleast they all mount correctly. Shimano 600 EX Arabesque, the period "correct" one for these dropouts. I believe Shimano made the second stop or "back stop" to...

This Huret Allvit is the 2nd version, iteration B from 1962? According the Hideki Sasaki's book on Huret derailleurs. This final version Gran Sport was original to the bike. These old bronze Campagnolos somewhat work with the Huret dropout as part of the upper knuckle hits the hanger stop...

I have the one with all metal. Posted a picture of it few pages back. Hideki Sasaki in his book "Derailleurs of the World – HURET" dates the one with the red star logo "Allvit" sticker on the front and with the red pulleys from '69 to '72. Would love to have the Luxe Touring RD.

Never been to that site before. Did have a quick read on couple of posts on the blog side. Always interesting to read about "Long-Cage vs. Short-Cage Derailleurs", vintage derailleurs, capacity, gearing... Not really "well beyond", always something to learn. It was a good read and I found the...

it's been raining for the past three or four days, so haven't really done much progress on the Super Sport. The derailleurs are on and I swapped the Bluemels to chromed fenders (also from a DBS of the same age) that have matching black striping. Still need to do the brake cables, true/center the...

Yes as found, but the owner told me that all, apart from the cockpit, was original to the bike as the bike was a custom ordered with those parts from Jonas Øglænd to the bike shop his family owned back then. I think he recalled it was for his brother in the early 70s and then later it was handed...

Not with 100% certainty. The Super Sport model was in production from '61 to '71. This DBS from 1967 shown here http://www.cykelhobby.com/dbs competition.html has very similar frame number (SN.2999586, mine is SN.2926716), so I would say, based on the first two numbers, that it is from about the...

That upper cone looks similar to the one on the red Lejeune. Both have vertical knurling. I have lock-nuts like that, but I think all are for 1"

Every bearing surface is regreased. For the Stronglight/TA triple crank the BB spindle needed to be 128mm and for 68mm bracked I only had a 130mm mystery cheapo one, but the surfaces were good. The headset was set really tight by the previous owner and the bearings had indented the races...

Looks like you are correct, definitely a Stronglight lock-nut on that. I hadn't really looked at it and thought it was a Stronglight P3 headset, but then I saw the Torevess print while taking those pictures of the frame.

Could've been made like that. I'll take a closer look at it at some point. I would need to find a place that has a good welding/machine table to see if I could use it to cold set the head tube and check the rest of the frame. Or alternatively just use a bench vice. Those Raleigh RRA's are great...

The wrong with my redder Lejeune is that the head tube is out of alignment by couple of degrees. Don't know how or why, but the fork looks to be straight on all axes so I don't think it's because of a front wheel side-impact.
