A Question on BB spindle width.

I might add that this is my own method and it is not 100% correct and will not work with all cranks but I could not find the right spindle length for TA Alize triple so I came up with this calculation. I just tested four different cranks with this and got: 6400=113mm 1056=111mm TA Alize 3x=124mm

A Question on BB spindle width.

You can calculate chainline if you measure from inside of the right dropout to the middle of the cog set and minus that from the over locknut distance. So for example 130mm/2 - 21mm = 44mm. Then to work out the spindle lenght place the crank on a flat surface outside up and measure from the top...

A Question on BB spindle width.

Triples usually use spindles from 113mm up, but it's hard to say without seeing the setup or the crankset. I would use maybe a 118mm or 122mm just to be safe. Did you use symmetrical BB to check the clearance?

    Mystery Viner

Weird that the letters in the Viner are not in capital. Maybe it has been repainted (and professionally by the looks of it)?

    Mystery Viner

Does the fork crown have star cutouts? But like Nob said it should have the star cutout on the BB. The bike looks like a 78-81 Viner Special Professional, but I've never seen that type of decals. From what I've seen Viner did only a few different models in three "price ranges" Course, Corsa and...

    Early 80s Santini

For frame weight comparison the white frame is 58x57 C-C Merckx 3-Athlete with Reynolds 501DB and the cherry red frame is 59.5x57 C-C with Tange Champion NO.1(the seat tube is most likely Champion 2 tubing as the ID is 26.8mm and the frame is on the larger side).

I build wheels with butted spokes. Rims are Mavic OPEN 4 CD clintchers and hubs are Ofmega Masters with Campagnolo axles. Rear, without QR and freewheel. Front, no QR. Ofmega front QR

I corrected the frame weight as it was really 60g more than I estimated it to be(originally weighted with headset cups).

    Colnago or No Go?

How would you modify a cutout from Ciocc to Colnago club without taking the frame apart? With a dremel and small files? Could it be just a one off frame that somebody build with slighly different club cutouts and then later it got repainted as a fake Colnago?

    Colnago or No Go?

I know and those don't have clubs on head lugs, atleast from what I've seen. I was just throwing out "could be" Colnago models. It's just hard to find good photos on lower end Colnagos. This 70s Sport seems to have that type of seat stay caps, but I could be wrong as the pictures are not that...

Is there something stamped on the lower head lug?

    Colnago or No Go?

If it's real Colnago it could be Export or Sport, but it's hard to tell if those chainstays are even crimped.

    Colnago or No Go?

Those seat stay caps are too sharp and the Colnago club on the BB shell looks a little weird. On that type/era of BB shell cutout the bottom of the leg on the club should be flat?

Some Supers had three cable guides, like did some Colnago Sports and Saronni Colnagos.

Rear Modolo brake pinch bolt won’t pinch 🤔

You probably could just flip the spacer so that the flat face sits against the cable.

Rear Modolo brake pinch bolt won’t pinch 🤔

Maybe the slot in the spacer is too deep and when clamped down leaves enough cap for the cable to slip out when pulled with force. I have those exact Modolo brakes, I'll look how the cable clamp assembly looks on mine.

    Identify Raleigh frame

Theres not even braze-ons for bottle cage or cable guides on the BB, transfers are crooked and there is green overspray on the brake bridge. Around the brake mounting hole on the fork it shows maybe the original moss green colour.

    Identify Raleigh frame

Lugs have no cutouts and to me look lesser to that what a frame with 531c tubing usually would have.
