I have this 1995 US-spec Kona Cinder Cone that is in great shape, as far as I can tell all the parts (including grips and tires, brake pads, bar end plugs, etc) are original. This is a 16" RaceLight double butted frame with Project Two fork.

Specs:

XT Rear Mech
LX Front Mech, Hubset
Ritchey Logic Cantilever brakes and brake pads (very little wear)
Kona Race Light High Command brake levers
Sugino Impel Chainset, teeth show little/no wear
Mavic 237 Wheelset
Gripshift SRT-600 shifters
Kona 'Velocity' stem
Kona Race Light Seatpost, Handlebar
Kona Saddle, Seatpost clamp, cable guide, bar plugs
Odyssey Svelte Compe Pedals w/straps
Kona 'The Cleaner' rear and 'Mr. Dirt' front tires
Kona Race Light 'Impact' Headset

The front triangle (and every sticker with a brand name) was covered in 15-year old duct tape when I got this bike-the original owner was worried about it getting stolen. Although it took some time to remove, the tape protected that part of the frame really well, most of it is free from any serious marks. Lack of significant wear on the tires, brake pads, and chainrings indicates the bike has very low miles, but judging by the scratches on the rear stays and fork I'd say it was moved around a lot or leaned against something, and there is a pretty good scratch on the top of the stem as well. The great thing is that there are no dents, the dropouts are great, and there is zero chainsuck.

There are a few bits of tape residue/glue left in a couple spots, mainly on the bottom of the downtube by the headtube-I didn't notice I'd missed it until I was taking the pics.

Functionally, this bike is excellent. No bottom bracket play, shifts great, brakes work great, wheels relatively true, hubs spin well-I'll repack them with fresh grease before I ship it. Rear cassette shows precious little wear, XT rear mech looks great.

Although I don't post frequently in the MTB for sale section, I do sell stuff regularly to Retrobikers via US ebay, and have 100% feedback and an excellent reputation for packing bikes and parts extremely well. My ebay ID is 'normalab'. Sale is contingent upon my assumption I can get the entire bike safely in a single box-I'm quite sure it will be possible because of the small frame size, but I never truly know for sure until I pack it. I've never had a bike get damaged in transit, and I've shipped a couple dozen.

I'm thinking £195 posted anywhere in the UK, and likely most of the EU. Although not perfect, it's rare to find a bike where every part is original, and it does look great-a perfect rider. Payment via paypal, 'gifting' not required. Click on the thumbnails to see detailed pics of the components and condition. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

That is a really nice example. Tempted, but until my car is back in 1 piece there is no more room in the garage. Good luck

Hi, I know I'm being a bit ahead of myself, but if it comes to splitting I'll very interested in the Ritchey brakes. :)

For now I'd like to keep it together, hate to split something like this but I will if it comes to that. Keep an eye on this thread, I'll update it if I split.

Very nice and a decent price, must resist

location ?

Good to know I'm somewhere close on the price.

Location, however, is not close...I'm in Vermont, USA. Collection might be tough....

What a gorgeous Cinder Cone! She's just what I've been looking for for the SWMBO. Would you be willing to ship to Alaska? Cost?
