1997 Kona Hahanna

Hi,

I got lucky on eBay. Here is a Kona Hahanna from 1997. I picked it up last weekend.
The bike has not been ridden much, since almost any part is like new!
The seat post and saddle are new or not original though.

I measured the frame and I came up with a size 17". Regarding to the Kona catalog from those days, this can't be true.
Does anyone know if the Hahanna was sold a size 17"? I picked up the bike in Germany, so maybe there they were sold in other sizes. According to BikePedia.com, the colour is matte bourgondy, but the frame and fork are bright and shiny, does anyone know about that?

Since it is the basic model it requires some upgrading. The upgrading will be done in the future when I get some nice parts.
Since a Kona Cinder Cone frame from 1997 will be delivered soon, also from eBay, that will take my main attention.

Apart from the seat post being on the wrong way round looks like a very clean and original bike!

I think the stem may have been polished as it should be the same colour as the forks, the saddle isn't original and would benefit from an upgrade.

Very good frames on those.

Yes the seatpost is the mounted the wrong way, I fixed that.
I also removed the reflectors.

I took the photo's of the bike as I purchased it from the previous owner.
The only things that are not original are the seatpost and the saddle as I can see so far.
Perhaps the stem, but I am not sure.

Allthough it is a leather saddle it will be changed. The drive train will be upgraded even as the seatpost, bars, stem and wheels. But that will be done somewhere in the future.

I have one of these, and the silver stem is original.
Much cleaner than mine though, a lovely example.

I still have an original seat for this, its not perfect, let me know if you might want it.

It's a Selle Italia Triax thing, It'll clean up OK, but not as shiny as the rest of the parts you have.
