Hello gang,
Anyone know of an an 8 speed bar-end or thumbie shifter that will work with Campagnolo 8 speed indexed spacing?
(other than ridiculously priced Campagnolo ones)

Campy 8s is a 5mm spacing, same as shimano 7s.
Cheapest option is to get the cheapest shimano 7s bar end shifter and lose a cog. Do I recall there was a 105 bar end shifter?

Most glam, is keep it all campy and get bite the bullet on a campy shifter. No Bullet pus intended.

Sachs 8s is also 5.0mm spacing- but heaven know if sachs ever did a bar end shifter....

There was a Deore 7 speed bar end that came with a sticker saying it wouldn't work with Dura Ace . Apologies if I'm stating the obvious.

Amusing fellows….

Both Simplex and Suntour did non indexed ratchet bar cons - they click between positions so easier to use than pure friction, but will cope with any spacing / speed.

if this is for your anus let yourself go and fit shimano and horror of horrors, go non-indexed.
Non-indexed is an option, I have a Campagnolo friction bar end....

I was running standard Shimano shifting on an 8spd Campagnolo cassette ('triclour' 600)

Dont forget that downtube shifters fit barcon/ barend mounts but the mounts themselves have become a little harder/ more expensive to find

Suntour have bar-end shifters, Sachs too but very hard to find these days

All Shimano dt/ bar-end stuff has an extra 'click' or at least extra movement so 6spd becomes 7, 7spd becomes 8 (and gives you 5mm shifting instead of 8spds' 4.8mm spacing) but even finding reasonably priced down tube shifters and bar-end shifter spares is getting silly

and these will be your friend in fitting just about any dt shifter to a bar-end mount
