'98 16" Orange Patriot for sale

Retro Newbie
I am selling my much loved Orange Patriot as I do not use it anymore and it has been hung-up in the shed and not used for the last 5 years. The frame has been resprayed and new decals have been added. The frame was bought in 1998/1999 but the components are from 1994/1995. The bike is in excellent condition for its age and all components run smoothly, although there are signs of wear/deterioration on the grips and rubber boots on the hydraulic brake levers. The usual chips and scratches are also visible. Anyway, here's the spec as far as I can remember:

Frame: 16" Orange Patriot with 6" Fox Vanilla R rear shock.
Forks: RST's with 6" Firestarter triple crown conversion kit.
Bars: Club Roost Go Fast
Stem: Azonic Shorty
H/Set: Chris King cartridge bearings
Brakes: early Hope hydraulic brakes with single pot calipers. 8" front, 6" rear discs.
Hubs and skewers: Hope (can't remember the name)
Wheels: HED carbon downhill rims (the section of the carbon surrounding the innertube valve has been removed to facilitate using shrader valve innertubes).
Tyres: part worn Tioga Factory DH 2.30F
Cranks: FSA 175mm
B/B: Shimano cartridge type.
Pedals: Standard cartridge platforms
S/post: Thomson Elite
Saddle: X-lite kevlar (this is pretty knackered but I have a new and unused WTB Rocket V saddle to replace it with)
Grips: need replacing
Gears: 8 speed gripshift ESP, Shimano XT rear mech, and 36T Specialties chainring.

£600 ono.

I am based in Southampton but can arrange to deliver the bike if relatively local. if you have any questions call or email me on: 07949 673 526 or [email protected]

There really ought to be a cringe emoticon...

I can't help thinking that they've been rendered worthless :?

I remember only being able to get 6" out of my patriot by switching to a longer stroke shock which was only avaible as the RC.. I could be wrong though.. :? 8)

UnbeF***inglievable
Drilling them to take super long schraeders would have been bad enough.
