American Eagle

Retro Newbie
Hi guys.
I have just bought 19" American Eagle MTB in nearly NOS condition.
I just wanted to know a little bit more about the brand - does it still exist?
Could anyone give me a hint or a link?
I have some pics ready to share with you but I do not have enough posts to paste them.

bit of info from Sheldon

American Eagle
A short-lived brand name from the mid-70s bike boom. I believe that it got into trouble for the misleading name, and reverted to the Japanese name "Nishiki."

Nishiki
Nishiki got off to a good start in the U.S. market, but made the error of selling some models to department stores, creating bad feeling against the line among independent bicycle dealers. Nishiki lost a great many dealers as a result of this.

Later, the Nishiki brand became a division of Derby, along with Raleigh and Univega. The Nishiki and Univega names were retired in 2001 so that Derby could concentrate on its Raleigh brand.

I have just started this new thread because I need your advice.
I know that my bike is nothing special but it's condition made me think about putting it on the wall and keeping it for next generations as an example of early 90's MTB. Sounds stupid, doesn't it ? :)

If i was you i would just look after it and enjoy it this generation, my 11 year old thinks my love of old bikes is plain weird, he likes bouncy things with disks but no interest in old bikes at all, actually he likes anodised stuff on my bikes but thats it,

get out and ride and get some pics up too, if it is the 95-97 american eagles they appear to be well regarded and specced too

Here it is. Pics by max_robal from Polish allegro - online auction website.
