Seems to be a well established reasonably priced BELGIAN brand:

I have been amassing parts from the tip and car boot sales in an effort to get back into the groove of cheap & cheerful cycling. Putting the fun back into it instead of throwing money at it all.

Already in the pot are some Tiagra mechs from a defunct Moda,

3ttt bar stem combo left over from a drop bar MTB

A set of 9spd wheels from Mr. Panda - I forget the make but its Italian with cartridge bearings

Frame comes with brakes, I just have to find levers and a chainset.

Budget so far is around £90

Schils = Patrick Schils who is Belgian and has been selling bikes in Colchester for yonks. Decent rider - still dishing it out to the over 65's in LVRC races too.

Well known in the bike trade as a wholesaler and supplier of frames etc. from Europe for many years.

Well. Regardless of my faux pas I have my sticky mitts on it. Full carbon fork, 105 brakes half decent headset. Checked for cracking but seems ok.

Will build up tomorrow in the daylight.

great topic, i remember going down the local tip every weekend about ah a long time ago. sugino / chainsets weinman brakes were plentiful thats where i got my peugeot carbolite, it was a pure delight ! and ive got to get another and do what your doing ! ...cycle jumble s now [but cocked up on those ultegra 8 speed shifter's i bought at the last cj £40..the left does not grip to keep the fr mech on the big ring ]

Nearly finished.

last gen square taper DA chainset was quite pricey when comparing to some of the cheap octalink chainsets finishing on ebay. But you pays ya money and all that.

Wheels are Gipiemme cartridge with the bladed spokes. A bit battered but serviceable. I also have some year old 'Forme' wheels in traditional black rims/ silver hubs & spokes. Maybe too shiny for the Schils.

Shifting has to be what I already have as STi seems to have ballooned in price over the last 3 years. So, I have barcons for now with some slightly rough feeling Tektro V/ Canti levers set for cantis.

Budget so far taking into account initial purchase costs of stuff lying around for some years is up to about £150.

First test ride finds BB too wide and current 8spd block knackered...

More later.
