In the early 90's a friend of mine had a Barracuda team.
Similar to the one below, (picture borrowed/stolen from somewhere on the internet)

Back in 2002 or so, I saw one on eBay.nl(!). It was a very nice one, with Ringle all over and such. I were surprised be the low amount that was paid for this once dreambike. Actually that was the point when I made up my mind and decided to focus and get my hands on great old mountainbikes like this.

On your question: No, I do not own one. Got the brochure back in 1995 at my lbs. It is posted in Gallery 2. They were indeed nice bikes. A bit expressive, wild, but with a traditional double diamond frame design. Colourfull too. More or less like Yeti, but at another pricepoint (except for the 'unltd' model of course  )

easton one

The EASTON Barracuda frame from around 93-94 was welded up by YETI then later on production moved to Control-tech

Im sure if im wrong ill be corrected

Very nice frames though, especially caked in RINGLE kit :D

Barracuda is one brand that people keep talking about, due to their short production life and "Behind the scenes" story of how it all came crashing down.

I know many people that love the steel frames, while myself and others, covet the aluminum. Most people know of the XX Team bike, less know about the A2X (their first actual team frameset) and Cuda Comp, which had a nicer aluminum frame than the XX Team.

I stumbled upon a nice '93 A2L in classic team colours on Craig's List, I believe it's still for sale at $230.00 USD down in Denver, CO. Speak nicely of me when you snatch up this great deal.. :)

Sorry, to answer your question, I am building up an XX Team bike this winter. I'm a huge fan of Barracuda and will be posting the progress of my build.

Ohhh... Interesting!

Many years ago i bought a complete barracuda bike with paul, sram, ringlé, manitou etc here in Norway. It was sold original with those components. Maybe it was a team-bike or something?
It was white, blue and red i think. The ringlé components was red and the paul's blue.
I don't find any info about the brand, just some cheap lowcost bikes.
I guess the model must be aorund 1995? Maybe it was an A2X..
It's very very light and got easton alu tubing.
To bad it does not have the original paint anymore...

Actually i've been planning to sell it.
