Campagnolo Chrous 10 speed hub service guide

Hello

Not entirely retro but doesn anyone know where I can find a suitable online guide to servicing these hubs?

They are the hub type with the useful 'split' bearing adjustment nut which is secured in place with an allen-style grub screw which clamps it onto the axle.

I think I may need to replace the bearings, does anyone know what type I will need?

Campy's official nstructions for the 2007 record hub are available here;

Your hubs are the same. I have a 10 speed Chorus hub that I rebuilt recently. It is easy and all replacement parts are still available.

The bearings are loose ball size 5/32 grade 10. The bearings are in a plastic carrier and it's easy to pop them in and out. You can buy the bearing sets from campy ($$$) or just buy the loose balls from a local bearing supply shop.

I can send you grade 10 balls of the right size as well. I have hundreds of the damm things. Bearing shops like to sell by the hundred.

Is it 15 balls in these each side ? If so 30 grade ten balls are £2.50 + postage which will small. £3.00 should cover it and I will send you a few more incase you drop a few.

Guys

Many thanks for the information and tips. I just ordered 100 balls so am now kicking myself!!

Looks like I should be able to give my hubs some TLC anyway.

Thanks again.

Tim
