On my way to work today I was able to pick up a much hated Yeti AS3 for a 100 bucks. Full XT. White Brothers crank and rear hub. Syncros seatpost. Other nice bits. Does anyone here recognize the stem logo? Anyways I know this is the most hated yeti frame but it looks fun to me. Going to make a fun cruising bike out of it

I've heard that even though these were primarily a XC bike that some were ridden as dual slalom bikes? Does anyone know if that is true? Or does anyone have any pics of one built up as such? The frame is actually way stouter then I thought it would be. The rear looks a little flexy though.

Re:

Spent sometime cleaning the gunk and grime off the bike. Tires still hold air. Replaced the stem/bars with some extra race face stuff. This is going to be a fun ride once I sort out the brakes and rebuild the shocks.

Anyone here have any good tips for cleaning the frame without damaging the decals. The paint is pretty weathered. Would like to get a good shine on this.

Well i'd normally use T-Cut or something similar but with the age of the bike it could affect the stickers so if i was in your shoes i'd try Arm and Hammer toothpaste as it should be abrasive enough to brighten the paint work with out hurting the stickers and nice find by the way ..
