Converting a top pull front Mechanism to bottom pull?

Morning all.

I have a Shimano Top pull front mechanism that I want to fit to a frame with bottom pull hardware. Is there an adapter I can use or is it a case of buying a new mechanism?

Many thanks

if your mech looks like:

you could try one of these:

What mech is it? This style of mech can be converted:

That's great thanks. It looks like the top version I'm afraid. I will have a better look shortly.

Just about to follow your excellent guide to bottom bracket removal first...

That top picture is a bottom pull mech though. You say you have a top pull mech it would look like this

Just checking before you have a selection of mechs to choose from

Does your cable come from the top tube OR from the bottom bracket ?

The bike I am stripping for parts has a top pull Mechanism. The frame it is going on - a Haro Escape needs a bottom pull.

I needed a rear hanger so have just been to the Bike Station and picked up a front mech for the princely price of £5 for both. The only downside is that my better half now wants it.
