yes - I have one. What would you like to know? Mine is anodized blue and it came my way via a secret handshake and alcohol...

I have one too.
LGF is right. The alu is frighteningly thin. Similar the Manitou FS/HT I guess. Treat it nice and you should be ok though.

I have a 1998 Easton elite ht4 which I am in the process of trying to sell the frame. Really nice hardtail frame but gone back to fs.

They were made for several years, so it may not be wise to generalise. What is true of a 1994 prototype may not be true of later frames.

I don't know about the earlier ones, but by 97 or so they were made of Easton Elite, and later from Easton Ultralite, so it was the best aluminium tubing available and there should be no question of either thin tubing (the Elite tubeset was to a standard specification) or of poor welding techniques, as Easton only sold tubesets to builders that they were happy with.

I've never had one, but I've always assumed they were very good frames.

I've got an HT1 or 2 frame and a built HT5. Love 'em.

Spent years riding an HT2 which was finally retired when the head tube cracked. Have to stress though that took 9 years of every (mostly) weekend abuse - I'm 18 stone plus, it was rigid and I was doing some fairly hairy stuff on it!

Easton may only sold tubesets to specific builders but what happpens in the 2 decades afterwards is more important! Check for cracks from prevous gnarly owners...
