Crestone Peak VO2MAX

Retro Newbie
I bought this in Singapore in 1995 and haven't used it for the last 20 years. In very good condition. Anyone know anything about it? Does it have value today? I was going to give it to Halfords for their bikes to Africa charity but I wonder if it is worth selling. tempImagel3G57u.webp

I'm not familiar with that bike. It looks well made. Do you have more detailed pictures? What grade aluminum is that?

There was a review in MTB action about this bike. It´s good. Classic 90s aluminum stiff, lightweight bike and similar to many others: relieved chainstay bridge, ovalized and squared out tubes. Quality upper end hardtail but never made a big splash in the mtb scene.

I've looked up some information about it. It's comparable to something like a GT Avalanche but without the brand recognition. Cool bike. I would ride it.

Hi, this is a clone of the Hot Chili Zymotic.
Peter Denk had first Hot Chili Bikes, first model was also called Vo2Max, produced in Taiwan at PCI, before he moved production to Germany.
Due to certain reasons they keep on producing similar bikes in Taiwan and sold it via various me-too brands also to EU.

We've documented the full story in the german forum (feel free to use Google translate)

I don´t think there is any value from a mtb history collector´s viewpoint on that fine frame. From a user viewpoint, chose to replace either fork or stem. I would replace both. Everything else there is functional but nothing collectable as well. I say throw a marzocchi bomber Z2, a rigid stem, 2.4 tires and ride it.. or give it to someone eager to ride it.
