Last night I re-launched the new edition of Fat Tire Flyer: Repack and the Birth of Mountain Biking. I was assisted by Joe Breeze and Wende Cragg.

There is a video of the event on the Marin Museum of Bicycling Facebook page.

I don't have any way of getting my books to UK in bulk. I have found that I can get three copies in a USPS Priority Mail box that ships to UK for $90. I am open to suggestions, but these things are heavy, 3 lb. 12 oz. They come in boxes of eight that weigh about 30 lb.

I am working with Tommy Breeze to create logo swag.

After a recent period of "downtime" in hospital I picked up my copy of this book that Mr Kelly kindly sent me back in 2019 and decided to read it cover-cover, while I have been recovering. Okay, I am still working my way through the appendicies which are a great read in themselves, but:- what a great journal this book really is and it remains one of my prized posessions on the shelf.

I think a lot of us can relate to how these early mountain bikes developed as this book it took me back to the mid-'80s when I started fanatically assembling my first mountain bike and seeing where I could ride it and what it could do.

Its a highly recommended read. I enjoyed every chapter, including the insight into supporting road races in the US and Europe, but I was in my element when Ch16 started to highlight where all the early MTB brands and components sprung up from. Captivating stuff and hats off to the author for sharing his incredible life and times with us.

I'm loving the new Fat Tire Flyer logo merchandise too (so much so, I just ordered some from Tommy Breeze, thanks in advance). In fact it one of my next jobs while I continue my recovery at home for a few weeks.... to read the big bundle of back copies of Fat Tire Flyers I bought from Charles Kelly previously. Knowing more about he background of these early mags. now from the book; I can't wait to dip into them again to re-capture the era again.

.... Thank you so much to Mr Kelly for the contribution to the world of mountain bikes and cycling in general. Keep up the great work, all the best (Matt S, of Kent & Powys counties in England & Wales, UK)

Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, I do not currently have a means to distribute outside the USA.
