Airborne Black Widow Titanium frame, 14 inch

Unknown year ~2004 ish maybe, very very light ~3lbs ish, Has the enigma yolk where seatstays join seattube, looks lovely!

Has nice XC geometry, very quick, and surprisingly forgiving for such a small hardtail. Disc and V compatible, BB threads perfect, in great shape all round.

This is by far and away the best XC rocket I have ever owned, easily builds into a 22-23lb front sus geared bike without really trying but sadly it is a little too small for me so I should really sell it.

Pics below, sorry about the quality, only got my phone camera, I promise all the marks are just dirt, and yes I will clean the mud off before posting ;-)

This frame is no made by Van Nicholas and is called the Taureg:

Airborne Frame

Hi, can you tell me if the tube lengths/dimensions the same as the Van Nich? Looking for a small but this is "small" any chance of some dimensions, am about 5"4 short! What length/travel forks would suit this frame 80-100?
Thanks
Rachael.

The girl I bought it off was about 5'3 and it fitted her perfectly, I'm 5'7 but with short legs so I normally ride a 15 or 16inch and I felt like it was just a bit too small for me, even when using a 100mm stem.

Sounds like it would probably fit you but I'll measure up for you in every direction tomorrow when I get home from work so you have the exact measurements.

As for forks, well it can basically take anything from 80mm to about 120mm but it steers like a barge with 120's on there. 100mm feels about right, but I found the sweet spot was a 90mm Fox or a 100mm Pace (the pace has the same axle to crown as the fox but 10mm more travel).

Matt

pics built up with a couple of different forks below in case that helps:
(RS reba at 115mm, Pace at 100mm and rigid, cant find any when I had the Fox on there)

425mm - chainstays
300mm - centre BB to centre top tube
355mm - centre BB to top of seat tube
520mm - actual top tube
530mm - effective top tube (horizontal measurement)
110mm - headtube length

so looks like the top tube is a little shorter than the current Taureg length, everything else looks the same.

hope that helps!

Evening,
Have been having a measure & compare & I think to be honest it is a bit on the small side for me so will have to give it a miss.
Thanks for your help & good luck with sale.
Rachael.
