Help Dating Dawes Horizon

Hi, I bought a lovely Dawes Horizon this summer, toured holland with it and use it every day to go to work. I do want do some classic cycle events if possible so was wondering if anyone could help identify the age? It has a 501 frame, shimano alvio group set, 7 speed on the back 3 on the front.

I’d guess late 90s. But a Dawes expert may be along shortly to prove me wrong, or be more precise.

If the pic was taken from the drive side, it would be easier to date it from the components.
