Back in the 80's i had a Raleigh Burner, i got it 2nd hand so no idea where it came from, all i remember is the kids parents were quite well off and had a huge house! anyway onto the bike.

It was a MK1 round tube frame, the frame was painted gold, more like a champagne gold with black flame stickers like the GS. I can't remember the colour of the vinyl pads (might have been black?!) spoked wheels and the handle bars were the same as on the MK1 super tuff burner. Please help i've never seen once since and have searched the internet for hours for a picture.

Re:

nope not a super burner they were chrome and coated or anodized or something, mine was painted gold. decals were the same as on a GS.

I think that the bike your describing is one of the variants of the Ultra Burner. When the Burner range was released, the Ultra Burner was about the 3rd up in the range.
(Basic Burner, one with the tuffs and then Ultra Burner, then Pro) It shared the same frame as the basic burner, but came in 2 varieties from memory - a gold paint finish, with black forks grips, seats ect, and a silver one with blue finishing kit. (Not to be confused with the gold chrome effect black skyway equipped super Burner, a totally different frame coating).

The forks were upgraded - I think they might have been Tange tx500, and you also had Araya 7x Alloys, and possilby proper Dia Compe brakes,

Re:

i think we have a winner  Just got to try and find a picture then even better will be to find the bike itself
