Hi,

I just bought this run down SPECIALIZED BIG HIT EXPERT 2003 (the year might be worng). My plan is to get this back to decent mechanical condition. My main focus right now is the front breaks.

I've never had a bike with disk's before and I'm confused on the correct bracket because I'm 99.99999% this is the wrong one looking at all those spacers!

The Brakes are Avid Juicy 7 attached to Marzocchi Bomber 2001 forks. I think the bracket is an IS to POST and marked 185-F. The rotor is 180mm.

Does the bracket need flipping or certain spacers? It just looks wrong and unsafe to me!?

Any help / info /links would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't look right to me, usually the arrow points up to designate the size, might be a 160mm that way round with spacers used to bodge fit, or it's a 200mm rotor bodged to fit with spacers.

Ah! I see what you mean the same bracket will fit 160 or 180mm rotors like these ones Ebay link

Thank you... That looks better! That was bothering me (ignore the quickrelease... yes previous owner tightend it up hard with the lock open!). Wasn't going to take tools to it till the week end.

As a side note, Why does it have a Z1? Its a 200mm travel Freeride/DH bike. Shouldn't it have a long travel triple clamp fork on it?

Avid brakes came with spacers exactly like that, this has extra but it just looks like the adaptor is upside down

The brakes are not great anyway so now would be a good time to swap them out
